Before
Saint Patrick's Day arrives, you'll want the youngsters in your charge
each equipped with their own green shamrock, to ward off those seasonal
*pinches*. There are numerous ideas for making shamrock pins. And no
matter which project you choose, a simple medium sized safety pin and a
piece of heavy packaging tape, secured to the backside of your shamrock,
will produce a wearable pin.
The biggest
trick is finding a template to trace when drawing the shamrock. Try
tracing our shamrock to the right, or see if you can find one online. A
shamrock cookie cutter will also work.
An easy and festive shamrock might be created by cutting thin cardboard
into the desired shape. Paint one side with a thin coat of white glue,
and cover with green glitter. After it dries, the pin secured to its
back completes the project.
Since many people cringe at using, or wearing anything with glitter, you
might consider a less messy project. One basic, and carefree idea is to
simply use heavy green construction paper for your shamrock, and
deleting the glue and glitter stages of the project. Or, choose a
substance other than glitter, such as green sequins, to add the color
and flare.
