
Pulp of 1 orange, grated
1/ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2/3 cup sour milk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups flour
1 cup raisins
Preheat oven to 350º. Butter and lightly flour two 9-inch cake pans. Cream together grated orange pulp, shortening and sugar. Add eggs, blend. Add baking soda to milk, then add to mixture. Stir in flour. Add raisins and blend thoroughly. Pour into cake pans. Bake for 30 minutes for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Frost with orange cake frosting.
Juice of one orange
1 pound of powdered sugar
Blend enough juice with sugar to make a creamy frosting. Add a little milk if
there isn't enough juice. Frost cooled orange cake
